Audio drops

Ok, location - Embrun ON - SE of Ottawa - using Rogers old PVR that I mistakenly bought over 10 years ago - Issue - I ad posted about this sometime ago but thought we had resolved it but no. We are getting constant audio dropouts. I watch my tuner lose the connection on a pretty constant basis lately and it is annoying.

We have rebooted the box on a constant basis because of this and the fact that with the latest "upgrades" to the UI it slows down to an unusable state in a week as far as programming and response to commands from the remote.

 

Since Rogers has no viable buy back policy for their old equipment we are stuck with this box as I refuse to spend any extra cash to rent a new one, the service doesn't merit that loyalty.

 

Has anyone else got a possible solution? It isn't the tuner as my IPTV system has no problems like this and feeds through the same tuner.

Auto-HD in Atlantic Canada

Here in New Brunswick we use the Next Box 2 PVR.  I never have any luck in getting it to auto tune SD channels to available HD channels.  Anyone got the answer to this problem?

Nick HD appears has SD

Today (26 april) Nick HD (568) appears has SD just like on 231.
Region: Acadian peninsula, New-Brunswick. Have the regular HD NextBox.

2 Nextboxes 9865 with same Hard Drive size yield different recording times by half

One box can only record half of what the other can even though both have a 1TB HD

Both boxes (1 rented and the other purchased on Kijiji) are Nextbox 9865

 

In the diagnostics (tech version) under HDD Info both show as 9XX GB's

Rogers Rental - Toshiba HD

Purchased - Seagate HD

 

In testing with 8 X 1 hour recordings each:

Rogers Rental - 6.5% of HD used

Purchased -  12.5% of HD used  

 

On the Purchased unit I have performed the Restore to factory mode from the regular Menu under it's Diagnostics page and it did nothing.

 

I am at a loss to this issue.

Is it possible for the diagnostics (tech version) to lie about the HD size?

Crave 1 HBO 1 & 2 not coming in as Dolby Digital

Hello - hoping someone might be able to shed some light on an issue we are having.  As we sat down to watch Game of Thrones on Sunday we noticed that our sound was not very good.  Our amp was showing linear PCM.  We were taping on another box and on playback it was the same.  Crave 1 and HBO 1 & 2 are doing this.  Crave 3 and many other stations are fine and coming through as Dolby Digital 5.1 and sound great.  I checked a recording I had from months ago when 301 was still the Movie Network and it was fine.  If it is an issue with our amp I would think all the stations would be like this.  Any ideas?  We have to watch on demand to get the proper sound.   Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Channel 8 pixelating

Roger's Cav10455hd 4k pvr

Just purchased this box privately and Roger's is telling me it's not 4K despite it saying so on box front. Can this be true,?
Roger's says it's a 3.0 HD box not 4k. Too crazy for words.

Cant get CBC

F1 Qualifying on TSN5 pixelating.

Watching my recording of F1 Qualifying on TSN 5 today I saw an awful lot of pixelating, stuttering, even pausing. I always worry when I see that stuff whether my PVR is failing. But maybe it's just Sky feed. Can anyone else confirm this?

Explorer 8642HD reboot by itself

I'm using Explorer 8642HD.   It started to reboot by itself multiple times today.   It showed HdEr where it supposed to showed the time.  

 

After checking other posts, I think the Hard drive failed.    For the time being, can I stop the PVR from rebooting, almost every hour?

Out of Warranty Repair on Rogers NextBox 3.0 in Vaughan, ON

Does anyone know where I can repair Rogers Nextbox 3.0 9865 HD PVR in Vaughan, ON? I found a place in Scarborough that will do it for $105 or less - but they are far and their hours aren't convenient for me at all. 

Help! My PVR no longer records full episodes, only a portion and I own the box. I've already had a truck roll, rebooted and a factory reset - and it has not improved it. Since I've paid off my box, I no longer have a warranty.

How do add an ADDITIONAL user login to my Rogers account?

I want to add another login so that I don't have to keep re-logging in to the Rogersanyplacetv webpage or app.  It's super annoying that you keep getting kicked off but that's another issue.  I want to let my husband or kids login on their own.  How do you add one?  Or can you only have the 1?

Temporary Cable torn down by passing Truck

Yesterday at 12:50pm May 27th, 2019 a passing transport truck caught our overhead temporary cable wire that was strung across the street to a tree and then our house. It yanked the cable out of the overhead line and did some serious damage to our house. I'm wondering who is liable for this damage? The height across the road for the line at maximum would have been 15-17 feet as that is the hang heights for the overhead line and the hang height of the tree it was strung to relative to the street height. We filed a police report and the officer told us that it was Rogers fault or the Truck company's fault depending on if the wire was hung too low. We will have to go through our house insurance to repair the damage to the power line into our house and the Power meter that was pulled away due to it being a safety hazard as well as our eves troughs and siding.IMG_4536.JPGIMG_4517.JPGIMG_4516.JPGIMG_4516.JPG

Rogers on demand has major flaws

The on demand streaming service is not very good. If I leave program paused for long enough, it kicks me out and I cannot restart at the same location. This is a very poor design. I was told I should stop it instead of pausing. But why not fix the design flaw instead of asking paying customers to use a ‘work around’ solution. Sometimes when I stop it, it does not pick up in the exact same place anyways. This is especially frustrating when you paying 6.99 for a movie. This system is draconian compared to others in the industry. This is one of several issues I have with Rogers. Rogers apparently does not value I s customers. Might be time for a change.

Barclays Premier Soccer joins UEFA soccer in being dropped from Canadian Cable in August 2019

I have finished sticking all the needles I was given in the kit into my Soccer On Canadian Cable TV Voodoo Doll. DAZN is now the only way you can watch soccer. I have not heard boo from any of those involved in soccer here north of the 49th in North America on this subject. Mortua Est - like the Romans said when they conquered Britannia!! What this means is that all involved are content to be downgraded TO A STREAMED SERVICE FROM LMEYLAND - you pays your 240 loonies a year and get what the rest of the world has on regular cable! Barclays Premier and UEFA - where all the elite players participate for the big bucks and honors. We are left here on cable to see MLS and our national teams. Adios - it's been nice knowing you!

My box turns off every couple of hours.

This has been happening for a couple of months. Have tried everything-new box, new remote, plug in another outlet, repairman. It reboots itself in about 5 minutes. Only affects the secondary box. Primary box with PVR works fine. Any suggestions?

Initial set up of Nextbox CAV10455HD -- Stuck in a loop

I'm in the process of doing the initial set up and I've been watching it cycle through boot-Ldlr-2 repeatedly for over an hour.

What does it mean?? Can I unplug it and start this dance over again?
