Had ignite for a month or so. Was nice at first...AT FIRST.

NOW if I'm watching tv/streaming or on the home phone (yes I still have one) ALL OTHER WIFI ENABLED DEVICES suck hard. I repeatedly get kicked off wifi while on my iPhone and if the tv is on downstairs FORGET about social media...everything takes FOREVER to load. It's like buffering with dial-up! What gives? Had NO PROBLEMS with the Legacy system. Tech coming next week and unless I get results I'm switching back.

Anyone have anything helpful?

Is any one else having a problem with channel 179 (newsmix) channel not loading.  I've had to call tech support about once a month for several months now to report this.    Every time, they have to escalate the issue to their engineers (according to Rogers) and then the issue gets resolved later in the day.  It's a bit annoying.

I currently have Digital VIP cable (I was grandfathered), CRAVE, Hollywood Suite, all the time shifting channels and Internet 150u with mesh network.  I am paying $150 per month.  My contract ends very soon and despite my best efforts, I can't get anywhere near that price for a new contract and would have to shift to the Premier package as they won't allow me to continue with VIP.  Rogers is offering me free installation for ignite and 1g internet for about the same price I would be paying if I stayed with Digital cable.  My question:  given the troubles that so many are having with Ignite, should I make the switch?

I have been trying to program the Rogers Ignite TV Remote to run my Bose Soundlink Audio system.I have  tried all the codes listed (aprx 6) but none of them program the remote to run the Bose system.I have found a article on the URCSupport .com website that states.      “the ignite remote comes with VOLUME LOCK defaulted to control volume using TV.To change VOLUME LOCK to another device follow the VOLUME LOCK programming instructions in the Set up section of this site”.                I followed their directions and I am unable to find these instructions on their web site.Has anybody tried their instructions and been able to activate the Rogers Ignite remote to run the Bose Soundlink system?

Hi all, if I have a nexbox 3 PVR in my family room and a nexbox 3 HD box in my basement and both are connected to my network, can I watch a PVR recording on my HD box in my basement?

First, the facts:
1. She owns the PVR
2. I rent a non-PVR box from Rogers
3. We are both customers in good standing
4. She is upgrading to Ignite
The questions:
1. Do we have to do the STB unregister/reregister
2. Can the tech do that during installation (I live two apartments over)
3. What do I need to do to return my current box/remove the rental charge

AMC's The Walking Dead is having its mid-season premiere in February. I want to catch up on episodes, but Rogers is not listed as a provider on AMCs website, and Rogers On Demand never has any actual recent episodes and has proven absolutely useless any time I've tried to look for a show. 

 

Am I doing something wrong? I want to watch the first half of Season 9 and can't find it anywhere. I went to the AMC channel and ended up having an episode spoiled because even though it said "The Godfather" it was playing The Walking Dead instead.

 

I'm beyond frustrated.

I have a 4K nextbox terminal and would like to install it approx 20 feet away from the TV in another room

Is there a limit on the length of HDMI cable to use and should  i use a  22 or 24wg thickness cable.

I've resigned myself to the annoyance of walking away from a paused movie for just slightly too long only to have it abruptly stop and for my box to revert back to the loud and obnoxious promotion Channel. But adding insult to injury is the fact that I then need to seek my way through the movie to try to estimate where it was that I paused. com.

Quite often during this sick process the on demand service dies. this takes what was once irritation and frustration and transforms it into genuine anger. When does have to ask how it is that Netflix is so tidily besting Rogers regard to hi okay these fundamental features.

is there a way to render the pause permanent? And if not, is there a way to bookmark the movie so that return to his place is less than ordeal.

So, last week, I curiously tuned into Vintage TV (Channel 700 on both Digital Cable and Ignite TV, strangely labeled as "Channel M") and got the following notice:

 

"Please note, Channel M (Vintage TV) is no longer available. We apologize for any inconvenience".

 

Now, I've always been curious about this channel. The quality of the channel on both Digital and Cable TV was SD 16:9 (per the Wikipedia article), and I've noticed that most of the time, the schedule on the guides wasn't quite right or in sync to what the channel was actually shown. I had never heard of the channel until a few months ago (Since it was only carried by Shaw Direct, Cable and Rogers).

I've done a quick search and I've noticed that at times and even last year, Vintage TV (or Channel M) has either shut down or got removed from Shaw. I'm now genuinely confused about the state of the channel, since there's no updated notice of their channel making changes or shutting down. I only got the Channel M unavailability notice last week since I was able to watch the channel off and on back in most of January of this year.

 

Is anyone from Rogers able to tell me what's going on with Vintage TV/Channel M?

Hello,

 

So I've noticed something that looked misleading. I was watching the Your World This Week channel (channel 1 on Digital Cable TV) and I noticed this little blurb on the near-bottom. I provided an image below as proof:

Now, according to that blurb on the YWTW channel, Makeful TV is advertised as HD on 294, but when I checked out the channel on that particular number as well as channel 106, the channel was the SD feed on both channels (The presence of black bars all around the screen in 4:3 letterbox.

 

Probably an oversight here? The channel does have an HD feed (according to Wikipedia and three other websites that say that the channel has an HD feed which to my knowledge is only carried in Singapore on a provider called Starhub TV, but that HD feed isn't available on any provider in Canada as far as I know. I wonder if it's a separate HD feed for Asia or the same as the Canadian feed?). I can't remember whether Makeful is HD or SD on Ignite TV (326) since I cancelled my Ignite weeks ago.

 

Makeful also doesn't show up in the Free Previews section either:

The stingray music channels aren't showing any music metadata. Title, by, CD, label are all blank. It's been like this for about two weeks on all the channels I've checked, including 712 which is my preferred channel. My NextBox has been rebooted, didn't help. The cable box is about 3.5 yrs old and I'm wondering if they just changed the data format or something and the box can't cope.

I use this product on my Windows 10 laptop and it's performance and defects get me frustrated.

1. It frequently freezes (whereas I NEVER have this problem with Netflix)

2. I often get the message "Hmm - this video is taking longer to load....."

3. Sometimes I get the message "such and such channel is not available" (but that's not true)

4. Often issues 2 & 3 above really mean "your login has timed out" - logging in again can correct the problem

5. You often can't change a channel without logging in again

6. You never know when a login is required - often it takes you so far and then you get one of the above errors

7. Sometimes the audio and video are out of sync

 

My sense about all this is that the Anyplace servers are overloaded. It usually happens between 5-11 pm when most people are watching TV. Is there any plan to resolve these issues, Rogers?

I think there should be a way to provide immediate feedback on a TV show or TV Episode directly on the Rogers box. Along the same way Facebook Twitter and Instagram work, I think it would be good feedback to programmers if viewers could actually send a heart or a thumbs up while watching a TV episode.

We have two TVs and two cable boxes going from two of the 4 outputs on an amplifier in the basement. 

 

We want to put a third TV in the basement.   Do we have to add a third cable from output 3 to a third cable box?

Or, is there a way of connecting the third TV to one of the other cable boxes?  Right now my wife has to separately program the PVRs and then remember which PVR she saved the program. Ideally, she wants to program one PVR but watch the program from any of the three TVs (upstair, main floor and basement).   Is this even technically possible?
